Adventure Design Guide

Quality

First and foremost, we're looking for quality adventures. They need to be well written, with a compelling plot and interesting NPC's. If an adventure contains an orc encampment, we don't just want the raw statistics, we want to know the personality of the orc chief, whether he's willing to negotiate, and why he's a threat to the PC's.

Ideally adventures would fall between 5,000 and 15,000 words, and we would like everything to be very concise--no wasted words, no pointless encounters. In a certain sense this seems like a contradiction of the previous paragraph, but it's not, you can do both and we are more inclined to purchase from authors who do.

In addition to a compelling plot and interesting NPC's we expect each adventure to include some great new OGC. Ideally it would be a featured part of the adventure and not merely tossed in as an afterthought.

Quantity

We're looking for adventures that are overflowing with role-playing goodness. We want adventures to have something for each character class. We want them to have a wide variety of interesting settings, an abundance of unique NPC's and a plethora of cool magic items.

Flexibility

Flexibility is very important at DireKobold.com, we want adventures to easily scale up or down a few levels and including instructions on accomplishing this will be a big factor in our considerations. But don't stop there, adventures that easily accommodate DM's who run campaigns with low magic, or adventures that are easily adaptable to any campaign world are also highly desirable. For example, an adventure where the PC's could play either the good guys or the bad guys would be great.
